Blizzard Entertainment – the renowned developer behind Diablo Immortal and Hearthstone – has been working hard to create its latest mobile strategy game, Warcraft Rumble.

Bearing likenesses to games like Clash Royale and Stormbound: Kingdom Wars, Warcraft Rumble pulls players back to Azeroth, the primary world where many of the Warcraft franchise’s events are set.

With 2024 only a few months away, this new fantasy-themed action strategy game can be a great mobile title to end the year with, and Blizzard has just shared some exciting news for fans to look forward to: the game’s official release date!

Borrowing notable characters from other blockbuster Warcraft games, such as World of Warcraft and Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Warcraft Rumble adopts a more casual and friendlier tone to its gameplay instead.

Essentially, you come across an arcade machine while visiting a tavern within the Warcraft/ Hearthstone universe. Created by the Gnomes, the device uses miniature figurines of well-known heroes to be used as playable units inside a small, confined battle arena.

Also called Minis in-game, these units are separated into five different factions, each being:

  • Alliance
  • Horde
  • Beast
  • Blackrock
  • Undead

Every unit will have different stats, abilities, and combat effectiveness for you to choose from, though battles mainly revolve around a rock-papers-scissors system pertaining to the following unit types:

  • Melee
    • Strong against Ranged but weak against Flying
  • Ranged
    • Strong against Flying but weak against Melee
  • Flying
    • Strong against Melee but weak against Ranged

Of course, other mechanics, like distinct unit stats, capturing of Guard Towers, the summoning of Mini Leaders, and introduction of Siege Troops, affect your tactical success in defeating the game’s challenges too.

There are still a few weeks left before that day arrives, so further changes or balancing improvements may still happen between now and then.

Still, having a confirmed release date proves that the developer is happy with the game’s current development, with only a few things left to tweak before it’s ready to be revealed to the masses.
