Snowbreak: Containment Zone – Tier List – September 2023

(Last Updated On: August 30, 2023)

Developed and released by Seasun Games, Snowbreak: Containment Zone has offered some of the best visuals we’ve seen from an RPG-shooter so far. The characters are cool, the storyline is decent, and it’s a wild ride.

However, no matter how good the characters are, one cannot undermine the impact a good character can have on the gameplay. So, in this article we’ve compiled the latest character tier list to help you supercharge your gameplay to success!

SS-Tier

The characters don’t get any better, period. This tier includes the very best Snowbreak: Containment Zone has to offer. Compared to the rest, these characters can feel downright broken and unfair:

Lyfe Wild Hunt

Lyfe Wild Hunt
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Submachine GunFrostRank SSRank SS

Starting with the strongest of the bunch, Lyfe – Wild Hunt is a powerful character possessing all the elements of DPS, crowd control, and mob striking in her kit. She’s admittedly a wild beast to tame.

However, her stats, her skills, and her playstyle only goes up. After unlocking manifest 1, Lyfe Wild Hunt becomes a powerhouse. The game environment isn’t strong enough to contain her.

With every shot hitting like a bulldozer, Lyfe is bound to breathe new life into your failing gameplay!

Acacia Kaguya

Acacia Kaguya
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦PistolFrostRank SSRank SS

Kaguya is another great character to have on board. She’s great for mobbing, provides phenomenal CC, and her winter-based abilities keep the enemies in their tracks – long enough for you to wipe them out, and claim the glory!

While a pistol is not the best of weapons, you can think of Acacia Kaguya as more of a debuffer whose primary objective is to make your carries shine.

Albeit indirectly, her skills do enable your main DPS to hit more and miss less, while also taking less damage!

Yao Winter Solstice

Yao Winter
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Sniper RifleThermalRank SSRank SS

Yao Winter is a long-range sniper capable of obliterating her enemies from a safe distance. She’s got great synergy with Spacy Cowboy, and is a pure-damage type capable of dishing out disgusting levels of damage without combos.

She might feel a bit underwhelming early game, but once you’ve reached Manifest 1 on her, the game flips on its head. With so much good going for her, it’s only fair for us to include her on the best tier of this list.

Fenny Lionheart

S-Tier

While not as broken as some others, these characters possess all the explosions, and more. Pick them, and breeze through most of the game without worrying about anything else:

Fritia Hush

Fritia Hush
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Submachine GunTBDRank SRank A

Running as our mascot of A tier, Fritia Hush is a single-target DPS capable of melting down even the toughest of armors. Her kit possesses both AoE crown control, and damage. However, despite having AoE in her kit, her abilities can only pull so much.

With all the good, and some bad, Fritia is definitely a confusing choice for such a high tier – that is, until you see her single-target damage in action.

Marian Queen of Pain

Marian Queen of Pain
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Sniper RifleChaosRank SRank SS

Marian – Queen of pain is a character that works on the basis of strategic positioning. She’s kind of like that one mafia head that only strikes when the time is right. Due to her precise skills, and calculated kit, a bossfight or two is no biggie!

You don’t really need to have Manifests to make her useful. Just lock, load, aim and shoot, and you’re well on your way to a smooth ride through the game. Plus. with lifeline elements drilled into her kit, you’d be hard-pressed to not find success!

Cherno Those Two

Cherno Those Two
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦Submachine GunChaosRank SRank SS

Also known as Those Two, Cherno is a highly sought-after 4-stat character capable of faring with the higher grade 5-starts as well. Despite having somewhat of a higher skill ceiling, Cherno is able to exercise the core parts of her kit quite well.

However, abilities like Beloberg and Clear Empty skies shine the most when you’re surrounded by enemies. So, while her damage numbers can be outright insane, you’d need to meet very specific criterions to make her truly shine.

Fenny Coronet

Fenny Coronet
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦ShotgunElectricalRank SRank A

Carrying a shotgun in one arm and her enemies’ grave in the other, Fenny Coronet is both as deadly as she is cute. However, damage has never been her main focus (even though she hits like a truck), she can also buff allies.

While a buffer doesn’t offer nearly as much in a shooter game, her skillset and ability usage cooldowns make her pretty useful, even as a back-hand carry. Plus, if DPS isn’t working for you, just build her off-tank and see the chaos ensue!

Acacia [Redacted]

Acacia [Redacted]
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦PistolChaosRank SRank B

Acaia [Redacted] is one of the best (if not the best) AoE damage dealers in the game. With the chaos element working its magic, her bouncing daggers can mutilate any opponent with ease, be it tanky or squishy opponents, no one is safe!

While having an AoE focus kit does reduce her effectiveness against single targets, pairing her up with a DPS, and a support is plenty to mitigate the risks. Also, with her literally skinning her opponents alive, you’d have more pressing matters to take care of.

Fritia Little Sunshine

Fritia Little Sunshine
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Assault RifleThermalRank SRank SS

Fritia Sun, or Sunshine is a mid-range support type that holds the ability to buff others with her support skill. You can think of her as a permanent damage boost for your team. When going gets tough, just spam her abilities!

She works insanely well with operatives with high-firing speed, and if the recent updates are anything to go by, Fritia could very soon be jumping a tier solely because of her usefulness during combat!

A-Tier

While not “outright broken“, these characters are still quite strong in the right hands. As long as you got your builds and abilities right, the game will be on easy mode:

Enya Big Sis

Enya Big Sis
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦PistolThermalRank ARank A

When the big sister is in town, the worries have to make their way around. Enya is a true support capable of damage amplification. Think the bullets aren’t hitting hard enough? Let Enya buff up the damage of next shot by 40%.

Pair her with Winter Solstice, and you can wreak major havoc on the battlefield. Despite being a 4-star character Enya does more than enough to deserve her spot. Any doubters? Enya will weld your lips shut with her pyromancy!

Yao Quiet Quitter

Yao Quiet Quitter
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦Sniper RifleLightRank ARank A

Yao is a unique character – falling in-between DPS and healing. She is a sniper, holds the light element, and possesses a fairly strong support skill capable of breathing new life in your teammates. Her kit is also quite standard, and easy to learn.

Yet, somehow, she sits at the very bottom. However, even this changes as soon as you unlock her neuronics. With added power, and a knack for even taking the most deadly foes to pwntown, Yao Quiet Quitter is a small pack of continuous explosions.

Chenxing The Observer

Chenxing The Observer
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Assault RifleTBDRank ARank B

Ji Chenxing is a healer, a damage dealer, and an all-rounder capable of zone-controlling to an insane level. Her turrets can provide a natural cover for her allies, while her Psychic support skill works on some rejuvenation.

Whether you’re prioritizing her turret skills, or you’re aiming for that unholy ultimate-max build, Ji Chenxing is sure to give you her money’s worth. Just make sure to keep her neuronics in check, and you should be good to go!

Marian Swift

Marian Swift
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Sniper RifleKineticRank ARank S

Marian Swift is another great addition to the otherwise desolate A tier. Her long-range sniping is key for winning teamfights, and with her abilities capable of annihilating enemies with a single shot, she can be a great party member.

However, Marian is more of a stacking damage character, which might not be ideal in a fighting game, especially when your goal is to take down enemies as soon as possible. However, once she’s got manifest 2, things start looking good again!

Lyfe Wednesday

Lyfe Wednesday
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦Submachine GunElectricalRank ARank S

Lyfe Wednesday is just a 2nd hand version of her Wild Hunt variant. She’s got the moves, the skillset, and the shooting power to put most characters to shame, but her kit doesn’t let her utilize her full potential.

Thankfully, she doesn’t have to go all in on the manifests to leave a mark. However, with her upgrades being so cheap, that will be the least of your concerns either way!

B-Tier

The characters here are admittedly hard to pilot, but are still viable if you’re willing to invest in them. Though, at this point, you’re better off searching for a better character to be the focal point of your team.

Haru The Ace

Haru The Ace
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦PistolKineticRank BRank B

We’re finally down to Haru, a character with so much promise that it’s hard to identify what went wrong. Her limited range, hard to pull off combos, a lack of skill expression, and seemingly misaligned stats are just the trailer to the clown fiesta.

However, when pure DPS comes into question, Haru performs – even better than the higher tiers at times. But, there’s no way of controlling that power. All hope is not lost though, once the devs iron our her strengths, we might see Haru in a new light.

Nita Hands

Nita hands
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦ShotgunKineticRank BRank B

Nita, or better known as “Hands” is a peculiar solution, wandering aimlessly, waiting for a problem to fix. Think of her as an armored shield bearer, ready to smack down any foe daring to come too close, thanks to her potent active ability.

Not just that, her shielding makes her a tough nut to crack, and her supporting abilities keep enemies in check. However, she also lacks the fine control and direction needed to make her work, so she goes into B tier as well.

C-Tier

This is the “why are you even trying” tier where you’re actively aiming to make the game harder for yourself. Only pick them as placeholders, and get rid of them as soon as possible. Oh, and don’t make the mistake of investing in them.

Ling Yi

RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
5 ✦Assault RifleElectricalRank CRank C

Ling Yi, or Ryoichi as he’s known, is a tall, well-built character. He used to be a soldier but left for reasons of his own and chose to be a teacher instead. With a 5-star rarity, Ling Yi is perhaps the most disappointing ranking of this list.

He’s a leader for the Heimdall’s Troops and even fights alongside his buddies. Given that he’s a teacher, you can guess he’s got some special skills that could scare off anyone who tries to fight him.

Mauxir Meow

Mauxir Kitty
RarityWeaponsElementOverall rankReroll rank
4 ✦Submachine GunFrostRank CRank SS

Sitting at the lowest of the lows is our everyday catgirl Mauxir. Despite being the only workable SMG operative in the game, her kit leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, you can pull off wins on her, and yes she can become stronger.

However, the journey to that point can only be called nightmarish. Nonetheless, she is a good placeholder for dealing against bosses, and her orb damage calculation is another comprehendable strong point.
