Understanding The Puzzle

When you enter the train cabin, you’ll see a large circuit board on the wall with wires, capacitors, and a power source. Your goal is to rotate the wire tiles to create a continuous path from the power source to each of the capacitors.

Once connected, the capacitors will light up yellow.

At first glance, the maze of wires looks totally overwhelming! But if you take it step-by-step, it’s not too difficult.

Helpful Tips for Solving in Reverse 1999

When looking at the jumbled wires on the projector circuit board, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But don’t worry! Here are some helpful tips to make solving this puzzle more manageable:

  • First, keep rotating those wire tiles. The goal is to align the connections into a continuous path so the power can flow. Don’t worry if it takes a lot of twisting and turning to get the routes lined up.
  • Second, the order you light up the capacitors doesn’t actually matter. As long as each one is glowing by the time you’re done, you’ve succeeded!
  • Another thing that really helped me was to stop looking at the whole board all at once. That just makes it more overwhelming. Instead, focus on one section at a time. Slow and steady does the trick.

  • If you hit a roadblock, start experimenting freely with spinning the tiles around. There’s no harm in trying different combinations, and you can reset any tiles if needed.
  • Lastly, for now, just concentrate on the main middle parts of the board. You can come back to the edges later – they’re not vital yet.

The key is to stay calm, break the puzzle down into smaller steps, and tackle it bit by bit. With some logic and trial and error, you’ll be able to unravel the wires and complete the circuit.

I know it seems daunting, but you’ve got this! Just take it slowly and you’ll light up that board in no time.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Okay, it’s time to walk through solving this Reverse 1999 puzzle step-by-step. Follow along with these directions and you’ll get those capacitors lit up in no time!

  • Let’s start simple – go to the capacitor in the top left corner. Now look at the wire tiles around it and rotate them to create a straight vertical path heading down to the power source below. Getting that first connection is a good confidence boost!
  • Moving right along, next up is the capacitor in the upper right. For this one, take the horizontal wire on the second row from the power source and rotate the tiles so it reaches all the way to the right.
  • Now for the center capacitor. You’ll want to get the power source connected going up first, so create a path heading north from it. Then when you hit the horizontal wire above, spin the tile so it extends to the right over to the capacitor.
  • The bottom left capacitor is easy, and barely an inconvenience. Just extend the existing horizontal wire down a bit by rotating the tile beneath it.
  • Last but not least, let’s light up that bottom right capacitor. Take that horizontal wire on the third row and spin the last tile over so it lines up below the capacitor.

And that’s it! Once all the capacitors are glowing yellow, you can sit back and relax knowing you definitely just solved that tricky puzzle.

I know it was a winding path to get here, but you stuck with it and crushed it! Nice work!
