Galaxiga is a classic space shoot ’em up game that will put your reflexes to the test as you explore the cosmos and face enemy threats accompanied by a badass soundtrack. The game was developed by ONESOFT GLOBAL PTE LTD, a specialist in the genre, and has already delivered various others of the same mold, like 1945 Air Force and Dragon Epic.
At first glance, Galaxiga may appear as a simple drag-and-drop game, aiming at enemies and dodging their attacks. However, as we progress through the stages, exploring new planets and unlocking more features, the gameplay becomes increasingly frantic, challenging, and chaotic – but in a good sense.
To enhance your space travels, we will provide you with the Galaxiga Arcade Shooting Game – Ultimate Game Guide, delving into the best features that the game offers, how to capitalize on them and become the best captain in the world – or rather, the galaxy, has ever seen.

The Gameplay Basics
Galaxiga has super straightforward gameplay. In single-player mode, you choose the desired stage, its difficulty, and your squad and are ready to embark on your journey. You need energy to tackle those stages, and you get one every two minutes, up to one hundred.
Your starship shoots from bottom to top while the enemies shoot in the opposite direction. Your goal is to drag your starship so that its shot aligns with the enemy’s face until it is destroyed by your blasts. Once all enemies are eliminated, a subsequent wave begins.
There may be waves without enemies actively seeking your destruction, but they will test your reflexes and precision as you drag your starship around.
Some defeated enemies will drop unique items like upgrades, rockets, coins, etc. Acquiring all of these is essential because they boost your starship, especially the upgrades that enhance your blasters.
By beating every wave, you will emerge victorious, gain various spoils like coins and gems, and unlock the next stage. Coins are used to level up your starships, and gems are used to evolve their grade, increasing their max level and unlocking new skills.
Gems are also Galaxiga’s premium currency, necessary to accelerate your performance when you’re tired of video ads or impatient. They aren’t as rare as in other games, but compared to coins, they are much scarcer.
Grab Those Items
When the enemy drops an item, it will slowly navigate through space until it disappears into the bottom side of your screen. What we mean is: grab the item before it disappears, or it will be lost forever.
This includes upgrades, rockets, buffs, coins, and various event items. In some rare cases, the item will pinball around the screen and linger a bit at the bottom of it before disappearing. However, it’s better to avoid losing and acquire them beforehand to be safe.
It doesn’t mean you have to be reckless. Sometimes it’s better to wait for the item to come to you and position yourself accordingly to absorb it. But especially in the beginning, when your weapons are weakened, you should go after them to ensure that extra oomph in the following waves.
Levels of Difficulty
Initially, all stages will only have easy difficulty available. Once you complete it, the normal difficulty is unlocked, followed by the hard difficulty.
Each difficulty rewards different bonuses, encouraging repeating these stages in their most challenging form. Additionally, you collect stars, which serve to earn a free Random Box filled with random prizes.
At greater difficulties, enemies get stronger and more resistant to your attacks. Although we cannot confirm it, they seem stingier with drops, making upgrading your starship’s weapons harder and consequently interfering with your progress.
If you die, don’t worry. The game offers the possibility to revive one of your squads up to three times, either by watching an ad video or paying a sum of gems. In that regard, it tends to be quite generous. But if it’s still too difficult, there are some ways to make the process easier.
Use your Boosters
Galaxiga offers four power-ups to strengthen your starship before or during a stage:
- Overdrive: Allows your starship to use its unique power for a particular duration, which varies depending on the starship.
- Power: Increases the level of bullets according to the booster value from 3 to 10.
- Shield: A force shield protects your starship against one attack.
- Heart: Adds one life to your starship, adding to the three available in the retry.
You can purchase boosters using gems or take advantage of the daily booster chests. The Power of Booster chest can be opened up to five times daily and provides various boosters after you spend some time watching ad videos.
Gear Up Your Squad
And what terrible captains we would be if we didn’t strengthen our primary means of galactic conquest, our squad. In total, we can have four squads. Each squad can be composed of four entities:
- Spaceship: The protagonist of our intergalactic adventures. Each spaceship has its own abilities and unique appearance.
- Drones: Each spaceship can have up to two drones accompanying them. Drones passively shoot like the main ship but possess devastating specials, like a barrage of missiles.
- Stone: Stones provide an overall power boost to the spaceship and passive bonuses, such as additional coins, reduced cooldowns, or a big blast of energy that destroys all enemy bullets.
Initially, we have only one squad, but we unlock more as we rank up in our careers. During the gameplay stages, we can take all four squads with us. When a spaceship is destroyed, the following squad glides into the fray, and so on, until we win the stage or are defeated.
There are several ways to improve the power of your spaceship in addition to what was described above. The most common way is to invest coins to level them up. Each spaceship can level up to ten levels according to its rank, for a total of nine ranks.
To evolve a spaceship, you must have cards of that particular spaceship. Then, invest in gems and those cards. Increasing its rank also unlocks a new ability, such as increased primary gun damage, maximum bullet level, or even new weapons for the arsenal.
Another way is to acquire gears, which are spaceship equipment. There are five parts: body, core, rear, wing, and front. Gears are separated by rarity and level. They add bonuses to the starship’s stats and the turrets, a feature reserved for guild members.
The simplest way to acquire coins, gems, and spaceship cards is simply by playing Galaxiga. If you want to accelerate the acquisition of these resources, numerous daily free gifts provide them, and all they require is a bit of your time watching ads.
Megaforce & Technology
The main screen has a small frame with a percentage and a star. Tapping on it opens an interface with two new tabs: Megaforce and Technology.
Megaforce provides extra power to all your squads based on your completionist record. The higher the rank of your starships, drones, and enabled stones, the higher your Megaforce and, consequently, the power bonus. Megaforce encourages the player to focus on the evolution of current squads rather than individually focusing on just one.
Technology is like a talent tree for your starships. You need Cores obtained by unlocking starships, drones, or stones to activate technologies. The higher the rank, the more Cores earned.
Then, invest a certain amount of gold with the Cores, and the game will randomly choose a technology to unlock or enhance. The arbitrariness of technology selection can be frustrating, but overall, all technologies are helpful.
When you reach the Leading Spaceman career rank, the multiplayer mode will unlock, opening up new opportunities to earn rewards and have fun in Galaxiga.
Typically, we have two modes: Chasing League and Survival League. The Chasing League pits you against another spaceship in a race to eliminate waves first. However, there are two ways to win: speed or survival. If your opponent loses all squads and your score is higher than theirs, the victory is instantly yours.
The Survival League doesn’t have waves like Chasing. In this format, the captain who survives the longest wins. In other words, a match can last for minutes if both captains are highly skilled at space maneuvering.
Each victory in multiplayer mode grants a treasure chest according to your league rank. There are eight chests to collect, but they reset within a few hours. To rise in the league rank, you need to earn victories. The PvP rank ranges from Bronze to Champion.
Seasonally, events promoting PvP arise and deliver even more bonuses based on your victories. During this time, investing in multiplayer mode is suitable to secure the maximum benefits possible.
Join a Guild
The Leading Spaceman rank also unlocks guilds, and joining one brings benefits and entertainment to the captains. First, we have Advantages that boost every member’s starship. Bonuses like increased damage or HP in guild wars are among these boosts.
However, activating them can be costly. We have three requirements: coins, gems, and alliance points. Alliance points are earned from friends on your friend list. Guild members need to contribute each of these resources until they reach 100% to unlock the advantage.
Another feature is the donate, where we ask for starship cards from guild members or donate them ourselves. Ideally, it would be best to ask for cards of the starship you want to upgrade and donate those you’re not too interested in. Don’t be stingy! Your Guild is your family in Galaxiga.
The Guild Boss is a tough challenge intended for all members, so don’t worry if you’re not a one-person army and can’t defeat the enemy alone.
Your reward will be relative to the damage dealt to the boss. Coins and gems are the usual resources acquired, but this time we also earn Guild Points, essential for leveling up the Guild.
We also have Guild War, one of the game’s best features. We have two instances in the war: attack and defense. In defense, we choose up to three squads to compose the turrets of our base. In attack, we choose squads to attack.
We face other guilds, but despite this dynamic, we do not directly engage against an active player but rather their NPC-controlled squads. Still, it’s pretty enjoyable and exciting to triumph in the war. And, of course, to the winners, the spoils.
Enjoy the Events
Galaxiga is incredibly generous when it comes to events. It is not uncommon to see several active at the same time. However, given their rotation, we cannot provide specific examples as they may no longer be available when you read this game guide.
However, all events involve you playing either in single-player or multiplayer mode. If you notice new drops when defeating enemies, they are currencies for some event. Collect them and then enter the corresponding event interface to spend that currency for hefty rewards.
Many events have a low-key Battle Pass that only unlocks prizes when you tap on it. We recognize that, at least for now, they are too discreet and could notify us at each level achieved in the Pass. Otherwise, we may miss their bounties without realizing it. So always check all available menus in Galaxiga.
Daily Quests and Achievements
In the upper corner of the screen, we have the Quests, which contain the daily and achievements quests. As you imagine, they are some tasks that, when completed, reward us with resources.
Achievements are quite straightforward, and you will complete them organically while playing. Daily quests may need more attention. Browse them every time you log in since some require you to get out of your way or repeat an action, like opening chests.
Galaxiga Arcade Shooting Game is extremely fun and rewarding, but not for the faint of heart. Initially, it gives the impression of being a relatively simple and easy game. But as you advance through the stages and unlock new planets, enemies become incrementally more powerful, and soon it will be tricky to spot your spaceship amidst the barrage of lasers and missiles.
However, it’s not a game that demands much time. Each stage can be completed in a few minutes, and even if you’re a free-to-play player, you can unlock multiple starships and other components of your squad without spending a penny.
