Best Builds Guide – Legend of Mushroom

Legend of Mushroom might seem like just another idle auto-battler, but its depth of content blows many of its competition away, justifying its current popularity.

This is especially true regarding its character gearing options, but you can easily lose sight of what you need to focus on for your chosen class (we learned that the hard way). So, if you don’t want to backtrack on your gearing routine, read our best builds guide for all the game’s character classes.

Martial Sage

In Legend of Mushroom, there are a total of 28 character classes, including the first rank, Adventurer (Level 15). Instead of simply changing vocations, your Shroomie goes through evolutions upon reaching specific levels until Level 100 (not including Awakening).

The first class line ends at the Martial Sage upon Awakening, being the Swordmaster at Level 100. As its profile suggests, this class is the game’s true tank, and your setup needs to align with its remarkable defensive traits and counter-attacking benefits.

Martial Sage Attributes

Generally, your Skills and Pals should be used for improving secondary stats, so these are the primary ones recommended to be focused on via gearing for Martial Sages:

  • Defense
    • At Level 100, the Martial Sage gains phenomenal passive Defense boosts, making them almost impervious to damage in PvE.
    • While good against in-game content, your Defense stat will still need additional points added to it to truly make you shine in PvP, so getting bonuses via Relics or Souls would be a good way to do it.
  • Counter
    • The Martial Sage RELIES on Counterstrikes to deal significant damage to enemies; absorbing foes’ oncoming attacks (thanks to their defensive specialties) before unleashing their own retaliation strikes.
    • Getting gear stats away from Counter reduces your chances of hitting enemies back, diminishing your DPS and making you useless against other players and enemy mobs. Thus, increasing your Counter’s chance is vital.
  • Damage Resistance
    • Increasing your Damage Resistance percentage further bolsters your character’s durability, letting you outlast fearsome monsters and top-tier players while punishing them through destructive counter-blows.
    • Your Defense stat is still the main attribute of your overall Martial Sage build, but Damage Resistance helps to mitigate foes’ oncoming damage values directly.
  • Shield
    • The Martial Sage’s unique gimmick is their ability to summon a shield every 10 seconds after your character transforms into the Claymore Wielder (Level 70).
    • No other class can do so without using Skills or Pals, so having a passive shield allows some wiggle room for you to try different Relics or Souls setups (for other experimental stats, like Critical Resistance from Souls).

Skills & Pals

When it comes to Skills and Pals, the Martial Sage line is easy to build on.

Noting how tough your character’s exterior protection will be, your Skills and Pals need to supplement your hero’s attacking capabilities instead, focusing on bolstering your Counterstrikes’ lethality.

Warbringer

While becoming a Martial Sage has its perks, some might be put off by their strict defensive counter builds. That’s where the Warbringer class comes in.

A Warbringer has nearly the same toughness as a Martial Sage, but some of their defensive traits, such as the shield, are replaced by attacking-enhanced proficiencies, like greater Counterstrike damage.

Warbringer Attributes

In line with their kit, the following stats should be prioritized when gearing your Warbringer:

  • Defense
    • A Warbringer needs to take a lot of enemy hits to be effective at dealing counter-offensives.
    • Adding a lot of Defense (supplementing the Warbringer’s defensive passive even more) is the best way to limit incoming damage.
  • Counter
    • The Warbringer’s most damaging attacks come from their Counterstrikes, so increasing the Counter rate is your key to beating both in-game Bosses and other players.
  • Counter Damage
    • Working hand-in-hand with the Counter rate, your Counter Damage should also be as high as it can to maximize the pain you deal to foes.
  • Attack
    • The Attack stat directly affects all your character’s other offensive stats (Counter Damage, Critical Damage, etc.), so getting points into it from your gear should also be something you must keep in mind.

Skills & Pals

The Warbringer rivals the Martial Sage in terms of tankiness, but they are much deadlier in combat thanks to their passives. In fact, their Attack increases whenever they lose increments of their HP.

So, the Skills and Pals complementing their playing style should look something similar to this, boasting unparalleled amounts of damage while adding invulnerability:

Sacred Hunter

The Sacred Hunter is a single-target specialist, dealing loads of Combos and Critical Damage. Plus, their exclusive ability, Piercing Boneforge, stops the foe from regenerating all their skills’ energy for a short time, which is amazing for PvP!

However, what they provide in attack, they lack in defense, making them one of the game’s glass cannons.

Sacred Hunter Attributes

As an aggressive-type class, the Sacred Hunter’s gear requires points to be put into the following stats:

  • Attack
    • The Attack stat bolsters all the Sacred Hunter’s other important stats for battling, so any bonus stats invested into it directly empower your character further.
  • Combo
    • Taking advantage of the Sacred Hunter’s competencies in Attack, improving your Combo chances increases the potential DPS you’ll be doing as well.
    • Upon a successful Combo, one hit is equivalent to multiple basic attacks being executed simultaneously, dealing huge amounts of damage (depending on the Combo Multiplier).
  • Critical Rate
    • A high Critical Rate gives you chances to up your basic attack’s damage by up to two times or more (depending on the Critical Damage stat).
    • Couple this with increases in Attack, Combo, and Attack Speed, and you’ll be shredding enemies’ defenses effortlessly.
    • Aim to get a 100% Critical Rate to make the most of the Sacred Hunter’s 40% damage boost (Passive Skill 5/ P5) every second!
  • Critical Damage
    • Self-explanatory; a high Critical Damage value leads to even more devastating Critical Hits on foes!

Skills & Pals

Ideally, your Skills and Pals should be a mix of survivability and tons of attacking bonuses, but staying true to their offensive kit, you should opt for debuffing enemies and dishing out significant DPS output instead!

Plume Monarch

A Plume Monarch enjoys much of the same benefits as the Sacred Hunter. However, their kit diverges by catering certain elements toward maximizing Combo damage instead.

Although this doesn’t seem too big of a difference on paper, the change in kit direction actually has a big impact on your character’s build and potency.

Plume Monarch Attributes

Much of the Plume Monarch’s core stats align with the Sacred Hunter’s. But, their Active Skill, Sun Pursuit, lets you ignore enemies’ Evasion stat, meaning guaranteed hits for a few seconds.

So, the recommended stats to be focused on via gearing are:

  • Attack
    • Elevating the Attack stat improves all the other damage-related stats as well (Critical Damage, Combo Damage, etc.), so boosting this stat is a no-brainer.
  • Combo
    • Thanks to the Plume Monarch’s Passive Skills (P3, P4, P5), getting your Combo chance as close to 100% as possible makes your character a legitimate Boss and PvP killer!
  • Ignore Evasion
    • The Ignore Evasion stat allows your character to ensure all hits land on the target outside of the Active Skill’s effect, but this makes the Plume Monarch a niche class (Ignore Evasion might not work best against bulky Defense, high HP foes).
    • While a fancy stat to improve upon, we DON’T recommend focusing your gear on it unless you’re a dedicated PvP grinder (many Arena players might invest in their Evasion stats for their builds).
  • Combo Damage
    • Since your Combo chance is going to be extremely high, the Combo Damage needs to be increased too. It’s a simple one-to-one relationship but very deadly to your enemies!

Skills & Pals

Exploiting the Plume Monarch’s Combo advantages, enhancing your Basic Attack Damage while improving Attack Speed via Skills and Pals should be the way to go, besides those weakening enemies’ Defense stat.

Prophet

Both Prophet genders in Legend of Mushroom.
Photo: Joy Nice Games

If you think the Prophet class is the weakest and most peaceful class in Legend of Mushroom, then you’re gravely mistaken!

The Prophet’s kit lets them use Active Skills more frequently in combat, besides empowering them even more! Additionally, their Crane’s Whisper prolongs the Stun duration on enemies, letting them dish out more attacks without fearing any retaliation.

Prophet Attributes

The Prophet's Passive Skill 4 (P4) in Legend of Mushroom.
Photo: Joy Nice Games

Overall, the Prophet is a skill-heavy unit, so their gear should prioritize the following stats:

  • Attack
    • Increasing the Attack stat strengthens both your basic attacks and Skills, so it’s one of the Prophet’s primary attributes to improve upon.
  • Stun
    • The higher the Stun chance, the more frequently your enemies become immobilized.
    • While not all Skills can stun enemies, every basic attack can; this is both offensively and defensively useful (stunned enemies are vulnerable to free incoming damage while powerless to harm you back).
    • Couple this with the Prophet’s prolonged Stun duration (Active Skill’s effect) and all Active Skills’ cooldown reduction (P5 effect), and you become a monster in battle!
  • Energy Regeneration
    • Noting how much your character relies on Skills to be effective, improving the Energy Regeneration rate is paramount.
    • Generally, the quicker your Skills become active again, the more destruction you can do to foes every few seconds!
  • Skill Cooldown Reduction
    • Tying closely with Energy Regeneration, improving the Skill Cooldown Reduction lets you reuse Active Skills quickly by shortening the cooldown timer after they become active again (affected by Energy Regeneration).

Skills & Pals

The Prophet is a scary class to go up against, but their HP and Defense stats are borderline abysmal without proper support. However, if you’re going all-in, getting as many Stuns and Skill Damages is a must.

So, the Skills and Pals that you should take a look at are:

Darklord

For a specialized Prophet variant, the Darklord is the more menacing version. The class is all about improved damage to Skills and basic attacks.

Darklords don’t enjoy the Prophet’s faster Energy Regeneration rate and improved debuff durations, but their tremendous DPS potential covers their shortcomings.

Darklord Attributes

The Darklord's Passive Skill 4 (P4) in Legend of Mushroom.
Photo: Joy Nice Games

A master of chaos, the Darklord’s kit is very aggressive, befitting the notion, “Offense is the best defense”. Just like the Prophet, their attacking capabilities revolve around Skill uses, emphasizing the following stats:

  • Attack
    • When your class depends on beating the enemies first to survive, everything has to be built on the Attack stat, enhancing other damage-dealing stats as well (Skills Damage, Skills Crit Damage, etc.).
  • Stun
    • With limited defensive masteries, the Darklord might be more dependent on stunning foes than any other class, to stay in a fight for longer.
    • As such, a build boasting an extremely high Stun chance is probably the best way forward, particularly when they need the break between enemy attacks to conjure their Skills to maximum effect.
  • Skill Critical Rate
    • A high Skill Critical Rate should also encompass a Darklord build, especially when their Active Skill, Galaxy Dive, and P3 (Passive Skill 3) combine to double the value of every Skill’s Critical Damages!

Playing as a Darklord, you should go ham with your Skill Critical Damages and Stuns; both can be improved using the right Skills and Pals.
