Best Acheron Builds, Relics, And Light Cones – Honkai: Star Rail

A self-proclaimed Galaxy Ranger, Acheron is one of two new 5-star characters added in Honkai: Star Rail 2.1.

A mysterious figure with unknown motives, her presence in Penacony seems to imply a much bigger purpose, and her astonishing sword skills only prove this.

Gameplay-wise, if you’re a fan of her Lightning-based attacks, knowing her best build with the right Relics and Light Cones can help you clear many in-game content with minimal hassle.

Joining Honkai: Star Rail‘s slowly expanding hero list, Acheron’s a magnificent assassin-type character, with her attacks and design nearly mimicking another damage-per-second (DPS) unit, Seele.

Surprisingly, Acheron’s a follower of the Path of Nihility, a trait more aligned with damage-over-time (DoT) specialists. That doesn’t make her any less dangerous, though, and her best overall sets should look something like this:

To complement Acheron’s kit, you need a set amplifying her debuff while boosting her CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. Therefore, this particular set maximizes her value from the available options.

Acheron Alternate Light Cones

Rare Light Cones, such as the 5-Star Along the Passing Shore, might not be accessible to everyone. Fortunately, nearly all the other Nihility ones work incredibly with the Acheron, with the following being among the most ideal:

Light ConeEffect(s)

Incessant Rain Honkai Star Rail Light Cone

Incessant Rain

Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 24-40%

If wearer deals DMG to an enemy with 3 or more debuffs, increases CRIT Rate by 12-20%.

If wearer uses their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, 100% base chance to implant Aether Code on a random target that does not have it yet.

Targets with Aether Code receive 12-20% increased DMG for 1 turn.

Good Night and Sleep Well LC

Good Night and Sleep Well

For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 12-24%, stacking up to 3 time(s).

This effect also applies to DoT.

In the name of the World LC

In the Name of the World

Increases the wearer’s DMG to debuffed enemies by 24-40%

When the wearer uses their Skill, the Effect Hit Rate for this attack increases by 18-30%, and ATK increases by 24-40%.

As mentioned, Acheron is best focused on her Debuff kit and then effects that increase CRIT and ATK. Incessant Rain is the ideal alternative, as it provides maximum debuff on enemies plus a bonus CRIT Rate. Followed by Good Night and Sleep Well, the best 4-star Light Cone for Acheron, especially when she’s paired with a team specializing in debuffing.

Acheron Alternate Relics

Relics-wise, a few other options are available that suit Acheron’s build. It may not perform as well as Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters, but it is a decent alternative while you’re still farming.

Lightning Build

Cavern Relics SetEffect(s)

(4-piece) Band of Sizzling Thunder

(2) Increases Lightning DMG by 10%.

(4) When the wearer uses Skill, increases the wearer’s ATK by 20% for 1 turn(s).

Given that the Band of Sizzling Thunder has great sub-stats, it is an excellent alternative while still farming for Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters, as it increases her Lightning DMG and boosts her ATK.

Planar Ornaments SetEffect(s)
Space Sealing Station planar ornaments set's icon from Honkai: Star Rail.

Space Sailing Station

(2) Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%.

When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by an extra 12%.

Given that your Acheron reaches the SPD breakpoint value, Space Sealing Station is a decent alternative to Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm. However, it sacrifices some of the CRIT Rate you need.

Starter Build

Relic SetEffect(s)

Musketeer of Wild Wheat cavern relics set's icon from Honkai: Star Rail.

(4piece) Musketeer of Wild Wheat

(2) ATK increases by 12%.

(4) The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

It is easily accessible and most likely already available for Acheron to use. Its passive gives you the added SPD you need, but realistically, Musketer of Wild Wheat is only suitable for stater and, at best, used at early farming stages for Acheron.

Planar Ornaments SetEffect(s)
Inert Salsotto planar ornaments set's icon from Honkai: Star Rail.

Inert Salsotto

(2) Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%.

When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.

It gives her an Ultimate DMG and CRIT Rate bonus, but since Acheron scales better with ATK%, this build is better paired with a Light Cone that provides more ATK% value to work. Nevertheless, this build is primarily suited for starters and would be advisable to replace in the future.

Acheron Best Team

Acheron’s a merciless monster when she can get her Ultimate ready, but she’s quite susceptible to damage herself. So, she’ll need as much protection, support, and healing as she can get from allies.

With that in mind, here’s what her possible best teams should look like:

DPS Team

Kafka

Kafka

Black Swan

Black Swan

Fu Xuan

Fu Xuan

The ultimate DPS team that you hoped for. Perfect synergies and kit complement each other’s debuff stacks, and with Kafka unlocking the double Nihility bonus, this team unleashes immense damage to its targets. Fu Xuan would become more valuable if she had the Trend of the Universal Market light cone equipped.

Hypercarry Team

Pela

Pela

Bronya

Bronya

Fu Xuan

Fu Xuan

Unlike the usual Nihility, Acheron acts like Destruction or Hunt, dealing DMG with her attacks rather than DoTs. Pela will provide a massive AoE DEF Shred, benefitting Acheron’s DMG value, and Bronya will grant action advance and the needed CRIT DMG. Fu Xuan gives an extra CRIT Rate, but Gepard or Fire Trailblazer is a decent alternative until Aventurine if she’s unavailable.

Triple Nihility Team

Pela

Pela

Guinaifen

Guinaifen

Gallagher HSR

Gallagher

A 4-star team that compliments Acheron and benefits from a triple Nihility passive of her trace, The Abyss, which increases the DMG she dealt using her Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate to 160% of the original DMG, respectively. If you lack 5-star sustain, Gallagher is the best healer to this date, preferably at E4. His healing output is consistent; he enhances the team’s Break DMG and provides debuff.

Overview

Acheron using Basic Attack in Honkai: Star Rail.
Photo: miHoYo

Battle-smart and efficient, Acheron’s might isn’t to be questioned. Her attacks are incredibly strong, particularly when her Crimson Knot stacks are at maximum count on enemies.

Here’s a clear explanation of all her abilities in-game:

Abilities

AbilityEffect(s)
Basic Attack

Trilateral Wiltcross

Deals Lightning DMG equal to 100% of Acheron’s ATK to a single target enemy.

Break: 30

Skill

Octobolt Flash

Receives 1 stack of Slashed Dream

Deals 160% of Attack as Lightning Damage to a target, inflicting 1 stack of Crimson Knot

Deals 60% of Attack as Lightning Damage to enemies adjacent to the target

Talent

Atop Rainleaf Hangs Oneness

Upon reaching 9 stacks of Slashed Dream, Acheron’s Ultimate is unlocked

During the Ultimate, the enemies’ Toughness meter is depleted and All-Type Resistance is reduced by 20%

When an ally inflicts a debuff on an enemy, Acheron receives 1 stack of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot to the target (or the target with the most Crimson Knot stacks if inflicting an AoE debuff)

While Acheron is present, enemies that leave battle or are defeated will transfer their Crimson Knot stacks to another foe with the highest Crimson Knot stacks

Ultimate

Slashed Dream Cries in Red

Unleashes Rainblade 3 times before finishing with Stygian Resurge, dealing up to 372% of Attack as Lightning Damage to a target, and up to 300% Attack as Lightning Damage to all other enemies

Rainblade:

– deals 24% of Attack as Lightning Damage to the target, removing up to 3 Crimson Knot stacks

– deals 15% of Attack as Lightning Damage to all other enemies when the target’s Crimson Knot stacks are removed (increase up to a maximum of 60% Attack if 3 Crimson Knot stacks are removed)

Stygian Resurge:

– deals 120% of Attack as Lightning Damage to all enemies, removing all Crimson Knot stacks

Conclusively, she doesn’t need Energy to trigger her Ultimate, meaning she’s most dangerous when she can attack enemies frequently to stack her Slashed Dream.

Just like in the Penacony storyline, having Black Swan as a backup can be an enticing idea.

Traces

TraceEffect(s)
Red Oni

At the start of a battle, instantly gain 5 stacks of Slashed Dream and inflict 5 stacks of Crimson Knot on a random enemy

The Abyss

If 1/ 2 Nihility allies are present on the team, Acheron’s Basic Attack, Skill, and Ultimate damages increase by 15%/ 60%

Thunder Core
Outgoing damage increases by 30% when the target of Rainblade is inflicted with a Crimson Knot (stacks up to 3 times, for 3 turns)

Afterward, when Stygian Resurge is performed, a 6-hit attack is triggered to the target, dealing 25% of Attack as Lightning Damage for each hit

If her kit isn’t already scary, then her Traces make her even more menacing, especially the main three here!

Eidolons

EidolonEffect(s)

Level 1

Silenced Sky Spake Sooth

Increases Critical Rate by 18% when attacking debuffed enemies
Level 2

Mute Thunder in Still Tempest

The number of Nihility characters needed for The Abyss‘s (Trace) damage-increase effect is reduced by 1 (only 1 Nihility character is required for the maximum damage bonus now)

During Acheron’s turn, gains 1 stack of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot to the enemy with the highest Crimson Knot stacks

Level 3

Frost Bites in Death

+ 2 Ultimate Levels (maximum +15 Ultimate)

+1 Basic Attack Levels (maximum +10 Basic Attack)

Level 4

Shrined Fire for Mirrored Soul

Enemies entering battle are Vulnerable to Acheron’s Ultimate, receiving 8% more Ultimate Damage when hit

Level 5

Strewn Souls on Erased Earth

+2 Skill (maximum +15 Skill)

+2 Talent (maximum +15 Talent)

Level 6

Apocalypse, the Emancipator

Ultimate penetrates enemies All-Type Resistances by 20%

Damages from Basic Attack and Skill are now considered Ultimate Damage, able to reduce enemies’ Toughness meter regardless of weakness types

Enemies with Weakness Break suffer the Lightning Weakness Break effect

Under Eidolons, only the best of us will ever reach this stage with Acheron. Needless to say, the tough grind for her dupes leads to her becoming legitimately overpowered (OP) in Honkai: Star Rail.

This would include getting more Stellar Jades to purchase Star Rail Special Passes, but this should only be recommended if you’re willing to spend real-world money pulling for her.

You can always consider pulling for Aventurine too, so which would you consider saving your Special Passes for?
